The exposome concept offers a holistic view on environmental (chemical pollution, urbanization, climate change, pathogens), social (including psychological stress or economic pressures) and life-style (physical activity, smoking, diet) factors affecting human health at all stages of development.

Assessing human exposome throughout the lifetime requires an integrated approach at all levels. Ongoing EU projects, partnerships and networks bring together relevant parties and develop innovative tools and data sets. However, there is a need to connect the infrastructural capacities in the Environment, Health & Food and Social domains to develop sustainable resources for tackling this interdisciplinary challenge.

EIRENE, a new ESFRI infrastructure on human exposome, invites other infrastructures from the Environment (ICOS, ACTRIS), Health & Food (ELIXIR, BBMRI, EATRIS, ECRIN) and Social (SHARE) domains to discuss collaborations and synergies.
