This side event will explore case scenarios in the field of health where synergies among existing distributed RI’s resources at European and national levels can be leveraged for more effective research and resilience.
Europe has a diverse landscape of research infrastructures (RI). While intelligent investments will be needed to drive the development of any new RI to support emerging needs and scientific breakthroughs, respond to new challenges, particularly in the health sector, efforts to optimise and consolidate the existing capacities and filing necessary gaps, will provide the European Research Area with a more effective, interlinked and well-functioning RI landscape. This side event further builds on the gained momentum from the recent launch of the European Alliance of Medical Research Infrastructures (EU-AMRI), an initiative led by BBMRI-ERIC, EATRIS-ERIC and ECRIN-ERIC in April 2022 and directly contributes to ICRI 2022 priority topic, “Developing an integrated RI ecosystem”. The side event will explore case scenarios in the field of health research, where synergies among existing distributed RI’s resources at European and national levels can be leveraged for more effective research and resilience. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion to explore how showcased approaches can be applied across the landscape, regardless of the RI’s focused disciplines.
